Who We Are
Coinflip Productions is an independent film collective built by a new generation of filmmakers, artists, and storytellers brought together by a shared desire to create.
With different backgrounds, perspectives, and creative styles behind every project, Coinflip isn’t defined by a single genre or type of film. Our work ranges in tone and approach, giving each filmmaker the freedom to experiment, take risks, and tell stories that feel distinctly their own.
At its core, Coinflip is about collaboration. We believe some of the best work comes from bringing passionate people together, exchanging ideas, and giving those ideas the opportunity to become something real. Whether behind the camera, in front of it, or somewhere in between, every person involved contributes to the story.
We’re here to make films, develop our voices, and keep creating—one story at a time.
Meet Our Founder
Hi, my name is Evelyn (Evie) Pengilley, and I’m a San Francisco State University alum. I started this production company in the spring semester of my senior year of college with a group of friends. I was inspired by my role in The Feminist Filmmaker Fellowship at my college to keep creating spaces for women, POC, queer, and other oppressed voices in this industry outside of class. As a group we created many films that represent our personal stories (see below). My goal with this group is to continue to create art through our writing, directing, cinematography, and production design.
