CANIS — Short Film
12 Minutes / 2026 / Drama
WRITTEN & DIRECTED BY Evie Pengilley

Canis is a dark, gritty descent into paranoia, addiction, and revenge, following a man who wakes up convinced his friends have betrayed him and sets out to make them pay.

"Canis started as a question I asked myself: “How can I put my childhood dog in my thesis film?” My dog lives 400 miles away and was too old to transport to me, so my solution was that I could rotoscope him into my live-action film. I then combined my other favorite thing, live music. From there, I wrote an 8-page narrative about a boy who hunts down the people who stole his wallet, because it has a photo of his dog.
